I was so close to breaking $400 for the week...darn! But look at those eBay numbers, yay! Seems like my list more, make more plan is working. I only listed 30 "new and unique" items last week. My goal was 35, but I ran out of stuff to list. I'm happy with 30 and will keep that as my goal this next week.
Not sure why I'm sharing all this info? Click here to read about my weekly tracking.
I'm very excited to say that as of right now, I'm 4 Swagbucks away from a $20 Target gift card. I last cashed out with Swagbucks on February 1st, so it's taken about 2 months to earn $20. That's the best deal ever, since I do nothing more than do my "google" searches through Swagbucks. Click the cute guitar "search & win" banner below to check it out!!!! :)
Have a great week!

Earth Hour page here. You can already check out pictures from around the world as others celebrate Earth Hour. Cool!
Now, two different things can happen from here.
1. Both pairs fit the kids in the fall and they get to wear them. Yay! Then the following year, I'll sell them on eBay starting at $9.99. My last pair of kids USED Mammoth Crocs I sold went for $13. So, my kids get to wear Crocs for FREE...I might even make a few bucks.
2. They don't fit the kids. I think the brown pair will be too small for my son next year. They didn't have the next size up, but I still bought them. Why??? If they don't fit, I'll sell them NWT (new with tags) on eBay and start them at about $19.99. That's $10 more than I paid. So selling one pair online, NWT, will pay for both pairs and then I'd still have my daughters used pair to sell when she's done (I'm sure her pair will fit).
Either way, my kids get "free" Crocs and I'll make a few bucks as well. Yay eBay!!

Fiber One "pop tarts" $1.50 - $.50 coupon doubled = $.50 each
Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup $.50 - $.30/3 coupon tripled = $.20 each

Ragu $.99 - $.50/2 coupon doubled = $.50 each
C&H Sugar $1.50 - $.35 coupon tripled = $.45 each

Today's total was $29.08 and I saved $46.71. I also got 8 Monopoly game pieces....I'm off to see if I won. Has anyone won anything playing Monopoly at Alberstons?

I was a bit of a nerd, wrote a quick easy to read version of my theory and posted it here at DarkUFO. Let me know what you think...if you're a LOST fan that is. :)
On a side note, Earth Hour is Saturday the 28th. Turn off lights, computers, TV's, etc for an hour. 8:30 to 9:30 local time. Click here for more info. Thanks Irene!!

My Coke Rewards - this one is easy! Collect and enter the codes from Coke caps. Coke products are included, so look for codes on PowerAde too. I have a spot in my desk where I stash the coke lids and I enter them every month or so. Coke has many rewards to choose from, prizes, coupons, sweeps, you can even donate points. I cash mine in for coupons for more Coke.
Don't be afraid to pick up those Coke bottles in the parking lot, I found 2 at Target the other day!! :)
Box Tops 4 Education - I've been saving these for about a year. My daughter starts school in the fall and what public school doesn't need more money....? I haven't counted mine, but I would guess we accumulate about $1.00 - $1.50 a week. It's free money!! No kiddos at home? You can also save these and give them to a neighbor with school age kids, or drop them at a school yourself. Looking for extra cash? Suzanne, The eBay Selling Coach just blogged this morning about selling Box Tops on eBay. I'm always surprised by what you can sell on eBay.
Pamper's Gift To Go - enter the codes from your Pampers diaper packs. Not a lot of cool rewards right now....lots of Shutterfly stuff. But, you can donate points to UNICEF. Also, free codes are out there in the blogsphere quite often. In the past, I cashed in for Starbucks gift cards, an Elmo book, Bob the Builder video, etc. But, since my son if potty training, I'm about done with this program...sniff sniff.
Pounce Perks - for you cat lovers! I just signed up with this one. I'm impressed, it has lots of fun prizes/rewards. I entered codes from 2 packs of cat treats and already have 200 points. With just 400 points I can get a coupon for free Pounce Treats. If you have 1000 points...You can get a $15 Macy's gift card. 2000 points......how about a $30 Visa Gift Card? Now if I could just find Pounce Treats on sale more often!
I saved the best for last....UPromise. This is my favorite since it's so easy. UPromise will give you free college money. When you register, you enter your debit cards, credit cards and shopping cards (CVS Extra Care Bucks, Kroger Card, etc) and UPromise tracks all your qualifying purchases for you!! An even cooler feature is that you can have grandparents or aunts and uncles (whoever) add themselves on to your account. Simply send them an invite from your account. This way they can make purchases and the $$ will be deposited into the savings account for your kids. This one is the hardest to explain but requires NO EFFORT once you sign up. Yay free money!!

Whisker Lickin's cat treats - $.49 (after $.50 Mega Event savings) - $.50/2 coupon doubled = $.01 profit each
3 Musketeers "minis" bag - $2.00 - $.50 coupon doubled = $1.00 each, I'm stashing these for Easter.
Betty Crocker Fruit Stackers - $1.49 (Mega Event price) - $.50 Stackers coupon doubled = $.49 each
I also picked up 4 cans of the 4 count Pillsbury crescent rolls (very tiny cans). They were regular price, $1.39, and I used (4) $.35 coupons that were tripled. So each can was $.34, or I spent $1.36 on all 4. But....there was also a hang tag stating if I purchased 3 participating Pillsbury items I would get a $1.50 oyno coupon or "catalina". That's a $.14 profit on the crescent rolls. Here's the problem. The coupon machine was broken (and had been for days!). So when I got home, I called customer service and they credited my Kroger card $2.00. Yay! Make that a $.64 profit on those tiny cans of crescent rolls.
I spent $28.39 OOP, saved $30.62 and have $2.00 waiting on my Kroger Card.
Speaking of Kroger Cards, you do load the eCoupons before you shop right?
ShortCuts eCoupons -be sure to load the Huggies eCoupons!! There's even one for $2.00 off Pull-Ups. Use it this week with a $2.00 mfg. coupon and Pull-Ups are only $5.99 OOP.
Kroger's new circular will start Wednesday!

I've never been to the arboretum in the spring. Wow!! Was it so beautiful to look at and smell. :)
It seems like most of Dallas was thinking like a tourist as well. The arboretum was packed!! Lots of people looked to be taking Easter photos. Anyway, we had to park way out in remote parking and take a shuttle bus to the front. The kids loved it, and it totally added to the adventure. The day before I tried to load the coupon page (several times) with no luck. But, while standing in line, my coupon karma paid off and a very sweet lady handed us a B1G1 Free coupon for Wednesday only. Yay, it was Wednesday.
Once inside we enjoyed our picnic lunch in the grass. It was so lovely, have I mentioned that yet? The kiddos really enjoyed playing in the new Storybook Playhouses. They are on display until the end of the year. It was a nice change for the kids, getting to run free and explore!! Thanks to my sister-in-law and nephews for joining us on our play date adventure. We made some great memories!
Interested in visiting the Dallas Arboretum. Visit their homepage here and the coupon page here. For the coupon page, scroll down and over to the right a bit. Print extras and pass on the coupon love!
Stuck in town? Think like a tourist and visit someplace new or different!!

I only list 15 new eBay items. I really need to work on the eBay thing!! I've made a goal to list 30 items this week. I am going to try to break that down to listing 7 or 8 items, 4 days a week. Wish me luck! :)
Weekly Impact - $291.00
Yearly Impact - $4,458.07
How's this? Take the yearly number and "gross it up", divide by 11 weeks, divide again by 40 hours a week and I get $13.50 an hour. Pretty good for staying home with the kids, right? Read about my own personal Wylie Mom Math and "grossing up" right here. I like to make life look better through numbers!
Have a great week!!!

Walmart's Sample Page - nothing new for me (or nothing new I need), but be sure to check if there is one you missed!
GoodNights - Free boxers sample
Dunkin' Donuts Coffee Sample

Don't forget to use Swag Bucks for your internet searches!! I'm about 3/4 of the way to a $20 Target giftcard....how about you?
4 Meow Mix Treats $4.56 - (4) $1.00 newspaper coupons = $.56 or $.14 each
4 Mentos Gums $5.12 - (4) $1.00 newspaper coupons = $1.12 or $.28 each
Rimmel Sexy Curves $6.88 - FREE coupon from All You (up to $6.47 only) = $.41
I also picked up bleach spray (only $1.12), staples, and dried mixed fruit and dried plums for my daughter. Weird, huh? Notice I call them "dried plums"....haha!
I would have liked to cruise for clearance, but I ended up at Walmart on a Saturday. Even my kids complained it was crowded. Total savings $21.97. Yay!
Friday, March 13, 2009
This week, Kroger is doing the Mega Event again, where you purchase 10 participating items you get an additional $5 off.
Here's my highlights:
5 Quaker Quakes, on sale $.99 - (3) $.50 coupons from samples doubled up to $.99 and (2) $1.00 newspaper coupons - $2.50 Mega Savings = $2.47 profit/OVERAGE on 5
The overage was allowed in this case because the price is $.99, the $.50 extra savings per item (Mega Event) comes off at the end as $5. I didn't even realize until I got home and wondered why my total was so low. :)
Tidy Cats $.49 after Mega Savings and $1.00 newspaper coupon
Betty Crocker Potatoes - Mega Event savings - $.40 Cellfire eCoupon and $.35 ShortCuts eCoupon - (2) $.40 Betty Crocker printable potato coupon doubled = $.37 OVERAGE on 2
In the above case, the Cellfire eCoupon should not have off since I used a printable coupon, but it did. Who am I to agrue with the computer? ShortCuts eCoupons seem to always come off if a "paper" coupon is used.
Ken's Salad Dressing = $.49 each after Mega Event and $1.00 coupon from last Sunday's paper
Fiber One Bars were $1.00 after coupons, one was only $.25 after the $.75 ShortCuts eCoupon!
Purex detergents were only $1.99 after Mega Event and $.50 newspaper coupon from Sunday was doubled, and each one have a hang tag with a fabric softener sample!
Total OOP = $17.06
Total saved = $50.43 Yippee!!
I also got gas on the way out and used my $.10 a gallon Kroger Fuel discount. I paid $1.57 a gallon for E-85 and saved $2.11 on the gas.
Please e-mail me if you have any questions!! :)
Now, it does say "Manufacturer's Coupon" at the top. On the bottom it says (really big) "Only at Walmart", that's a Walmart saying/logo. It does not say anything about "redeem only at Walmart" so you should be able to redeem it anywhere, but to be safe and avoid an issue, I'll head to Walmart. My sweet daughter has been asking for dried plums and blueberries and Walmart has a great everyday price for dried fruit.
All You magazine is a great coupon resource, but only available at Walmart or through subscription. It's the one magazine I actually pay for!!
Thursday, March 12, 2009
Here's RedPlum's homepage.
2 Pull-Ups $20.00
Huggies Wipes $6.00
(2) $2.00 newspaper Pull-Ups coupons
$.50/1 Huggies Wipes newspaper coupon
Total paid to Walgreens GC = $23.17 and I got back a $10.00 Register Reward
Coffee Mate, B1G1 Free, $2.49
Garnier Conditioner ( a friend for the Garnier shampoo from CVS) $2.99
Kraft Mac & Cheese $1.59
Axe Hair Pomade $6.99
Wags Headache Relief $2.99
Baby Ruth (filler) $.50
(2) $1.50 printable Coffee Mate coupons
$.69 Kraft/Wags coupon (saved $.90)
$.49 Nestle/Wags coupon (saved $.01)
$2.00 Wags EasySaver Garnier coupon
$1.00 Garnier newspaper coupon
$2.50 Wags Easy Saver Colgate coupon
$1.50 Colagte coupon from ALL YOU magazine
$10.00 Register Rewards from Trans #1
Total Paid to Wags gift card = $.14
On the second transaction, my plan was to purchase some rebate items with the RR to "make" some of my money back. I received a $.51 overage from the Coffee Mate and a $.51 overage from the Colgate, if you're technical I also had a $.01 overage from the Garnier. Anyway, I purchased the Mac & Cheese and Nestle candy as fillers to get me close to zero, but not under zero!
Here's how the transactions look overall. I spent $23.31 on my Walgreens gift card, but ZERO cash OOP. After I get the Walgreens rebate (and 10% bonus) for the Axe Pomade and Walgreens Headache Relief, I'll have $10.97 loaded back to the card. I've also already sent the UPC's from the Pull-Ups to The Caregivers Marketplace for $.75 back per pack. That brings my total for Pull-Ups and wipes (what I really needed from Walgreens this week) to $10.84. But remember, I spent NO CASH out of pocket.
Here's the Walgreens gift card/rebate plan: Make an "investment" and purchase some rebate items. Have the money loaded to a Wags gift card. Use the gift card to purchase something that pays back Register Rewards. Use the Register Rewards to purchase a rebate item. Rebate money is loaded to card. Rinse and Repeat! I "invested" about $15 back in October and haven't spent cash OOP at Walgreens since! You can make the gift card balance grow through the 10% bonus and coupons.
Total saved at Walgreens this week, $33.36!

Thing is, I bought my son's shirt at the Gymboree Outlet....I wonder if Kate is a bargain shopper?
P.S. ***UPDATE*** I read about the costume guy (Ronald Sanchez) and he does a lot of the LOST wardrobe shopping at the Waikele Premium Outlets, where there is a Gymboree Outlet. I was right!!!! Also, I read that he does shop at Ross when he can. :)

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast
1 (6 pound) bone-in turkey breast (I used boneless, it turned out fine)
1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix
Rinse the turkey breast and pat dry. Cut off any excess skin, but leave the skin covering the breast. Rub onion soup mix all over outside of the turkey and under the skin. Place in a slow cooker. Cover, and cook on high for 1 hour, then set to low, and cook for 7 more hours.
Do not add water!!
You'll be amazed on how moist and yummy it turns out. Thanks to All Recipes for the recipe.
Garnier Shampoo $3.34
Maybelline Dream Whips $8.00
$1.00 Garnier newspaper coupon
$3.00 Maybelline Dream Whips coupon from April Glamour magazine
$6.97 in ECB from last week's trip
Total OOP = $.40 and I got back $5.00 in ECB
3 Vaseline lotions $11.07
(2) $1.50 Vaseline newspaper coupons
$1.25 Vaseline newspaper coupon
$5.00 in ECB from above
Total OOP = 1.97 and I got back $6.00 in ECB

How did you do this week at CVS?

Kids eat free on Tuesday nights 5-10 pm. One free kids meal with one adult meal purchase. I personally almost always get the salad bar when I'm at Jason's Deli (it has so many yummy choices), sometimes a sandwich. I used to eat at this location a lot when I worked at a nearby bank. Thanks to Angie at Jason's Deli for the info, I appreciate it!
DFW area only (as far as I know)
Kids eat free on Tuesday, all day! One free kids meal with one adult entree purchase. The Fiesta Lime Chicken is my favorite, and has been for so long that I still call it the Tequila Lime Chicken (that's old school Applebee's talk ). :)
Hwy 78-just south of Westgate
Kids eat free on Tuesday with purchase of adult entree. My kids love the Dino Bites with corn and the yummy bread. Don't forget to get an ice cream cone on the way out!
Kids eat free everyday, with a paying adult entree. WOW!
Know about any kids eat free offers? Please let me know! Just leave a comment or e-mail me. :) Thanks!

Savings - $76.74
eBay Sales - $83.76 (all store sales since no auctions were listed week 9)
Misc. Income - $1.00 (Dollar Surveys)
And here's my big money saving story!!! I started at MyPoints and was lead to NetQuote. I was searching for new auto insurance. I figured we had 2 different cars since we last shopped around. Plus, I am no longer driving to work. But, getting an insurance quote does do a hard pull on your credit.
NetQuote was super fast! I had at least 4 quotes e-mailed to me within 15 minutes. I changed back to Geico and will be saving....okay this is the embarrassing part, $1071.20 a year!!! Why didn't I do this sooner? Yay me! I am very excited about the savings! I won't add it to the weekly number, but I will add it to my yearly impact number. Also, I'll get 5000 points from MyPoints for switching. With MyPoints you cash in points for gift cards and 5000 will get you about $35 worth.
Weekly Impact - $161.50
Yearly Impact - $4167.07
I listed 21 new items on eBay, requested samples and clipped coupons and cleaned out my coupon binder. In addition to receiving fun samples in the mail, I got a new product to try on my son (I'll be paid $5 upon completion) and I got super cute hoodie and mouse pad from Mr. Rebates. Yay!
Any deals to share for a great week? Email me at email@example.com. Thanks!
