Spending My $40 (From Swagbucks) At Target.Com

Over the past few months, I've been using Swagbucks for my Google searches. I've been signed up for about 5 months now and have earned a $5 Starbucks card and two $20 Target e-giftcards. So, that's breaks down to about $9 a month by doing nothing more than clicking "Swagbucks" to do an internet search instead of clicking "Google".

Last night, I first checked with ev'reward to see which online rebate program paid the highest % back for shopping at Target.Com. It is BigCrumbs, they pay back 6.3%. After you select an online shopping rebate site, be sure to go to their web page first and "click through" to the store. In this example, I logged into BigCrumbs and then searched for Target.Com under "Shop".

So, my son's birthday is in about a month and I spent my Target e-giftcards on a 2 presents for him. After using my $40 in FREE Target money from Swagbucks, I paid another $18.80 out of pocket. I got him a Fisher Price Geotrax Zoo toy (pictured) and a pair of Superman pj's complete with cape! I figured overall, I only "wasted" the $8 in shipping. But I saved myself time, gas, and will get free eBay packing and boxes. Overall a great value!

I'll get back about $3.70 back from BigCrumbs and $.18 from PayPal (I used my PayPal MasterCard to pay, ie: eBay profits), so that's $3.88 in cash back. After considering that, I only spent $14.92 on the 2 gifts. Yay! :)

Banana Boat At Walgreens!

After reading this post at The Thrifty Mommy I ran into Walgreens yesterday. Thanks!!

2 Banana Boats $18.98
Popcorn $.39

minus

(2) $2.00 Banana Boat printable coupon
$1.50 in RR

Total OOP = $4.71 and $14.99 saved.

Awesome deal!! I picked up the popcorn to be a 3rd item to match my 3rd coupon, since the Register Rewards counts as a coupon. Finally, I'm learning the Walgreens system, thank to my readers!

I really wanted spray sunscreen or an SPF 50, but it seemed this transaction really pushed my Walgreens staff over the edge. None of the Banana Boats were ringing up B1G1 Free, so I had to get the only one that was tagged on the shelf for being on sale. Next, I had to wait 5 minutes for a manager (who was like 19 years old) to come over and approve the cashier modifying the price to match the ad in her hand. Gesh! This was Wednesday, surely I'm not the only person in Wylie getting Banana Boat sunscreen. Oh well, all's well that ends well!

Nothing Beats A Holiday Trip To CVS!

I had a great trip to CVS this week! I went during the Sunday/Monday sale, it seemed to make up for the fact there were no coupon inserts this last Sunday (usual for a holiday).

Cottenelle 12 pack $5.49
Revlon Nail Color $3.99
Gain Detergent $5.99
Colgate $2.99
Band-Aids $2.99
Clearasil $3.99
CVS Pretzels $.79
CVS Cashews $.99
4 SoBe Waters (on sale B1G1 Free) $3.16

minus

$1.00 Cottenelle coupon that came with a sample
$1.00 Revlon newspaper coupon
$1.00 Gain coupon from a sample
$1.00 newspaper Colgate coupon
$1.00 Band-Aid newspaper coupon
$1.00/2 CVS nuts & chips coupon from magic machine (when I walked in)
(2) SoBe B1G1 FREE printable coupon
$5/$30 CVS coupon from magic machine last week
$4.00 in ECB

$4.33 paid from my CVS gift card (from MyPoints) and $7.00 paid from MasterCard GC (from Olay, I forgot it still had a balance!)...Total OOP due $.01. But, the cashier paid it from the "take a penny-leave a penny" jar. How sweet, huh?

ZERO cash OOP spent and I got back $12.99 in ECB ($8 Extra Care Buck profit)!!!!!!!!! I saved $33.86.

I also made a trip to Walgreens. It looked way better on paper. I spent $2.92 and got back $1.50 in RR. $6.84 was saved. I got sandwich bags, Colgate and lots more gum....what can I say? My son loves gum!

At Alberstons, I spent $40.26. But, $7.46 was for my Memorial Day dessert (which was really yummy and easy!!), so that's $32.80 for groceries, sounds good! I saved $17.47. I guess I should have taken a picture of Albertsons.....sorry!

Here's to a great week!! :)

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

I hope the weekend is shaping up great for you! It is for me. :)

Yesterday, I packed up the kids, picked up my mom and headed to the Wylie Farmer's Market. Since is rained last Saturday, it was rescheduled for yesterday. I purchased some great strawberries from a family farm out of Farmersville. They are huge and sweet...and so yummy!

After that, we went garage saleing. That didn't turn out super successful, but I ended up with 5 auctions and spent only $2 out of pocket (plus gas). The up side is, 3 of the 5 auctions have watchers already (I listed while the kids napped). Once the kids woke up we headed to Goodwill for their 50% clothing sale. I saved $16.50 and ended up with 10 things for auction and 2 new with tag (NWT) items for my daughter. A pair of jeans for school and a denim Gap dress for now/school. I also purchased a paperback for me and my daughter found a wooden doll high chair in excellent condition for $2. She loves it!

Today, we heading to Kroger to pick up a few things (fun stuff on sale) and the ingredients for Strawberries 'N Cream Shortcake Squares. It's for tomorrow's cookout. First, I thumbed through all of my Food & Family's (from Kraft Foods) but ended up just using the online recipe search to find it. I wanted something easy and something that the kids could help with. This has a 15 min. prep time, then chills for 3 hours. Plus it only has 4 ingredients. Yay!

Remember that the Food & Family magazine is (FREE) full of recipes and usually contains coupons. Plus, Kraft Foods has printables as well! Have a great and safe weekend!!

CVS + Centrum Rebate = Cash Coming My Way

The rebates are piling up on me in my envelope, so I made a trip to CVS to purchase the Centrum Cardio before the end of the month. May 31st is the last day to purchase the Centrum if you still have this rebate!

2 Dry Idea $5.00
Centrum Cardio $9.99

minus

(2) $2.00 off Dry Idea printable, from coupon bar of the left
$2.00 off Centrum newspaper coupon
$8.00 in ECB

Total paid (to CVS GC) = $.99

No cash OOP, and I got back $2.00 in ECB for the Dry Idea. Overall I lost $6.00 in ECB, but I won't worry about that. I'm submitting the Centrum Cardio rebate for $9.99 back. With the rebate coming and the ECB lost, this was a $3 profit transaction, not too bad. I still have $4 in ECB left ($2 were from last week) and I had a $5/30 CVS coupon spit out of the magic coupon machine yesterday. It looks like I have a good start for next week's CVS deals! :)

All Kinds Off Goodies In The Mail

Here's the FREE fun mail I received yesterday and today.

Woman's Day Magazine

Kraft's Food & Family (sign up here), included coupons and lettuce seeds.

3 Shampoo and Conditioner samples, the Aveeno included a $1 coupon.

A check for $16.81 from Ebates. You get a $5 bonus for signing up. I totally forgot this check was coming, yay free money!

Free magazines a fun for several reasons. You can read them, donate them, and/or sell them. I took another stack of magazines and a book to Half Price Books on Monday and made $6.

On another topic, I've had some great coupon karma lately. It started with Suzanne, The eBay Selling Coach, sending me an e-mail asking me if I wanted a bunch of coupons. How sweet is that? They came this week and I used them to save at Albertsons last night. Thank you Suzanne!! On Sunday we went to the zoo (used a family pass and packed a lunch=free) and out of the blue a lady walks up and hands me $6 in zoo cash that she wasn't going to use. What was crazy is that is could have been used on the carousel, on food, in the gift shop, pretty much anywhere. Wow! So the kids each rode the carousel and then I passed on the last $2 to a lady in line to get carousel tickets for her 3 kids. Now, I feel like I should pass on more coupons. :)

A Trip To Wags & Albertsons

I popped into Walgreens real quick yesterday to avoid any Register Rewards expiring and get some dishwasher soap.

2 Suavitel fabric softeners (B1G1) $2.79
4 Kraft Mac & Cheeses $6.00
Sun Dish Detergent $1.99
Bic Grill Lighter $2.99

minus

B3G1 Free Kraft Mac & Cheese printable coupon (saved $1.30...?)
Wags/Mac & Cheese cpn (saved $3.24)
$1.00 Bic coupon
$4.00 in RR

Total Paid to Wags GC = $4.46, zero cash OOP. I got back $1.00 in RR for the lighter. I saved $15.34 at Walgreens.

On a side note, I also went to Albertsons (since there was not a lot on sale at Kroger last week). It was the last night of the sale (ads run Wed-Tues), so I didn't feel like taking a picture and doing a recap. But, I did only spend $27.94 and I saved $32.78. It had been 8 days since I shopped so I did good!

Wylie Mom's Weekly Recap- Week 20

What a sad little week...here goes!

Saved - $106.43

- $22.48 at CVS
- $11.30 at Walgreens
- $42.65 at Kroger
- saved $30 cutting hubby and son's hair

eBay sales - $69.91

Misc. Income - $36.00

- $20 Target e-gift card from Swagbucks
- $16.00 I spent this much of my credit at The Mulberry Bush (consignment store), I could have taken the rest home in cash but will check back in a few weeks.

Weekly Impact- $212.34
Yearly Impact - $7,276.33

I was surprised by my slow sales, but that's eBay. You can't always predict when things will sell. I listed 30 new items during week 19 and 22 items week 20. Which brought me to over 500 items, yay!

My fun item that sold last week was a remote control. It seems every time we clean out an old box or a drawer we find an old remote (TV, stereo, DVD players, etc.). So, I've been listing them on eBay. This one sold for about $15 from my store. I've also sold them at auction in the past for between $10 and $18. Good luck!

P.S. Once you start earning Swagbucks, have your friends or family give it a try. If you refer them, you will earn bucks when they earn bucks. I use Swagbucks for my Google searches!!

Shopping On The Cheap At Walgreens

I went to Walgreens primarily use some Register Rewards and get toilet paper. I didn't find anything I "needed" this week that offered RR back. Since all my RR expire on the 18th, I figured I should get shopping!

I had planned on getting the Angel Soft that's on sale but changed my mind once I got there, since the Charmin Basic 9 pack is on sale.

Charmin Basic $4
3 Tuf paper towels $2.67
Box of Cranberries $1.00
Windex Antibacterial $4.29

minus

$1.00 off Charmin coupon from the P&G book
$.59 Wags/Tuf coupon (saved $.90)
$.40 off Windex newspaper coupon
$9.00 in RR

Total cash paid OOP, $.63. I could have used my Walgreens gift card, but chose to use my debit since I could get $10 cash back. I only needed $10 and figured it was worth the saved trip to the bank and waiting in the drive thru. I wish ATM's still offered $10 bills!!!! Anyway, I saved $11.30 on this trip. I still have $4 in RR that I can hopefully roll next week and not blow like I did today.

The good news is, I'll submit the Windex Antibacterial trigger rebate from last Sunday's paper and get back $4.29. Yay!

Have a good Walgreens trip? Leave me a comment. :)

My CVS Trip This Week, No Real Money Spent!

Nothing too exciting about this week's trip. I was in the need of a new razor (or cheap blades for my current model) and some fabric softener. The CVS brand fabric softener has always been good to me, and I hang dry most of our stuff. Anyway, back to the trip, keep reading.....there's NO cash OOP. :)

2 Schick Quattros $17.98
CVS Fabric Softener $2.50
Bayer Quick Release $2.00

minus

(2) $4.00 off Schick Quattro newspaper coupons
$10 in ECB from last week

Paid to CVS gift card from MyPoints, $4.68, no cash out of pocket and I got back $10 in Extra Care Buck ($4 for each razor and $2 Bayer). I saved $22.48.

Razors are another item I've sold on eBay. I'd group at least 2 together or maybe a razor and pack of blades. Another way to look at it, group items together where you think it will be a good $9.99 auction or store item. Just some ideas!

Happy shopping (and selling)!

Awesome New Fiber One Printable!

Here's a great new Fiber One printable coupon that I received this morning from Pssst (General Mills).

Kroger Groceries, eCoupons, And Samples...Oh My!

I finally made it to Kroger yesterday (it had been well over two weeks). Running out of milk was what finally triggered the trip. I like to go on Thursday or Friday and if I don't make it one of those days, I can't ever squeeze it in. Until now! My daughter is out of pre-school and twirling is over for the summer as well. Ahh...a free schedule, for a few months at least! Anyway, back to groceries. I spent $52.44 total yesterday.

I'd hate to cover any good deals, since a new circular start tomorrow.

I will point out the FREE Fiber One Bars. That coupon was a Kroger coupon mailed in a "thank you" pack about a week ago. Thank you Kroger!

I saved a total of $42.65 this trip and earned 71 Fuel Saver points.

When Kroger shopping remember to load the eCoupons before you go. Here's the 3 that I check:

Wylie Mom's Weekly Recap- Week 19

It seems being a lazy eBayer week 17 and 18 caught up with me!

Saved - $100.52

- $2.99 at Sonic (free Wacky Pack cpn)
- $1.00 at Redbox--NOTE, Today is the last day for the free Movie Mondays. Starting in June they will text one free rental code a month for the summer. Another good thing coming to an end.
- $55.76 at CVS and $40.77 at Walgreens

eBay Sales - $77.78

Misc. Income - $45.99

- $10.99 Walgreens rebate loaded (last one!
- $10.00 CVS gift card, cashed in some of my MyPoints.
- $25.00 for doing an eBay interactive survey

Weekly Impact - $224.29
Yearly Impact - $7,063.99

I haven't done this in a while, but let's gross the numbers up. You can read about the grossing up here, basically I factor in the impact of taxes and minimal work expenses such as gas and clothing, not child care!! That being the case, I would have made $229.05 for the week and $9,418.65 for the year. For the year, that breaks down to $12.39 an hour, or about $25K a year with no child care costs. Nice! :)

My eBay sales consisted of 8 items, 7 of them being from the store. The one and only auction item is my item of the week, 4 Boxes of Visine that I got for FREE ($.48 profit really) at CVS. I have found that grouping 2-6 like items together works best for most drug store items, when selling them on eBay.

Have a great week!!

Great Ideas Are Waiting For You At Kraft's Recipe Page

Did you know I don't like to cook? It's true! For those folks who love to cook, I know this will be hard to imagine. I don't care what we eat, I don't usually plan a meal more than 12-24 hours ahead of time, I don't sit around thinking of yummy things to make, etc. So all that said, here's one of my secrets, Kraft's recipe page. You can pick what meal or dish you're looking for, select which type of meat (if you were looking at say dinner) and you can even organize the recipe list by # of ingredients. That's my favorite part! I'm a 5 or less ingredient kinda gal. The Baked Ziti recipe is my favorite. It's yummy and easy! Be sure to add your favorite recipes to your virtual recipe box, so your favorite recipes will be quick to pull up.

Check out Kraft below...

New Coupon Toolbar To Check Out!

I was impressed with this one! For instance when you click on "Coupon Codes" it takes you to Retail Me Not (one of my favorites), it has weather, news, SlickDeals, eBay, etc. It's all totally customizable! To check it out, click below.

Rockin' The Register Reward Deals At Wags

The last of my Walgreens rebate was loaded to my gift card...how sad! But, I am getting the hang of the RR deals. Unlike CVS, when you roll Register Rewards you need to be very careful that you don't use bucks from the same mfg. that you are trying to get bucks for. For example you can can't pay for a Colgate item with Colgate RR and expect to get get more Colgate RR back. It's a little confusing, but you can do it!

Here's what I got this week:

Transaction #1

2 Bounty's $3.00
Niagara Spray Starch $1.99
Colgate $4.49
Right Guard $2.99
Charmin $3.29
Brownie $.99

minus

(2) $1.00 Bounty coupons from mailed P&G book
$1.00 Charmin coupon from mailed P&G book
FREE Right Guard printable coupon
$.75 Colgate newspaper coupon

I had this closer to zero, but the register would not allow me to use a third $1.00 Bounty coupon, so we took off a 3rd Bounty and added the brownie. If I didn't have the kids and a line behind me I could have found a better filler!! Like more starch...? Duh!

$10.00 in ECB from Transaction #1

Total OOP = .61 and I got back $10 in ECB ($5 cereal, $2 Colgate, $3 Adidas)

I had this transaction worked out to zero OOP, but the manager was too busy interrogating me about my Coupons.Com coupons and telling me he will no longer take them since "it looks like you photocopied them", that he took off $4.39 for the B1G1 free coupon. Nope, he didn't take off the $3.34 sale price and no, not even the $3.15 maximum stated on the coupon! So anyway, I ended up with a huge overage and did a poor job picking out filler candy while my two kids were yapping behind me and I was being accused of being a coupon thief. Argh! I guess I'll live with the $.61.

Adidas Deodorant $3.99

- $24.37 check picked up from local consignment store, The Mulberry Bush. I love this place!!
- $4.78 was given back to me from PayPal during April (for using my PayPal debit card)

Weekly Impact $506.24
Yearly Impact $6839.70

I don't even want to mention my eBay listings last week. It was only 6, but I'm ever so thankful for my store sales. 8 out of the 10 things I sold last week was from my ebay store. And remember, my store is stocked with items that did not sell at auction. I'll try to be a good work-at-home mom this week and list at least 30 items.

This week's item to watch for is girls Strasburg Dresses. The auction linked is one I sold before Easter for $51.99. I only paid $3 for it at a thrift store and I found 2 more last night also priced at $3 each!!

Have a great money making and money saving week!

I Finally Broke Down

I finally broke down and bought "new" ink for my printer. The last Walgreens refill lasted a very short time and the one before that I got for free since the Wags guy couldn't even get it to print in the store. So, I thought it was time to get a new refilled cartridge and recycle a couple of the older ones. Boring story so far right? Here comes the fun part!!

I usually shop for printer ink at Carrot Ink. I think they have great prices and standard shipping is really quick since they are based in Addison, TX (super close to me). So here's what I did:

1. Visited ev'reward and checked who has Carrot Ink as an affiliate and who pays the highest cash back bonus for shopping at Carrot Ink.

2. I picked !!! They have a $7.50 sign-up bonus and pay back 12%. Fat Wallet was a little higher, but doesn't have the huge sign-up bonus.

3. Clicked through to Carrot Ink from Mr. Rebates and earned $$$ buying ink.

My ink took just 2 days to get here. Yay! Because I have eBay to ship and hate lugging hubby's printer in here. My order was $22.95 and I will get back $2.75.

I really like that Mr.Rebates e-mails you the next day, telling you they got the click through info from your order, how much you'll earn, etc. Very nice!

Here's the really cool part. Mr. Rebates will let you cash out at $10. So, I received $7.50 to sign up and once the $2.75 is posted (it's currently pending, to be sure my order is legit and not returned), I'll have $10.25. That's enough to request a check or PayPal payment. Almost making that ink half price...
