Free General Admission (Free Tuesday) At The Dallas Museum Of Art

General admission to the Dallas Museum of Art is free on the first Tuesday of every month. Enjoy thematic art-making activities, story times, performances, and gallery activities.  The summer schedule is as follows:

June 5: Summer Days
July 3: Howdy, Texas!
August 7: Animal Kingdom

Kids activities are from 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. in the Center for Creative Connections (C3).  Click HERE for the schedule of children activities for June 5th.

Please remember you will have to pay for parking (I think it's $5, but shaded).  And, if you'd like to continue your adventure frugal style, pack a lunch.  There are many beautiful shady spots to enjoy a snack in downtown Dallas.

Cinemark's Summer Movie Clubhouse = $1 Movies!

Looking for some summer fun ideas?  Be sure to mark your calendar for Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays at Cinemark.  All kiddo "movie club" movies are $1 each, or you can purchase a ticket in advance for all 10 shows, for only $5.  Start off by clicking this Cinemark link, and find your local theater.  Then, print off the summer movie schedule and mark the dates in your activity calendar.  Schedules might be different per location, so if you live near two locations (like me!), look over both schedules for a bit of selection on your Thrifty Tuesdays.  Movies start at 10am.

For additional savings, sign up for the weekly concession coupons, via e-mail.

For my readers in the hot south...this is a perfect activity to fill the 10am -2pm "heat of the day".  The hours we here in our house avoid the sun.  :)

Make it a fabulous summer!

Don't Forget To Collect Box Tops for Education!

Here's a reminder to collect Box Tops for Education!! Even if you don't have children in school, save them for neighbors and relatives. This year my children's school collected over $2000 worth of Box Tops! At $.10 each that's over 20,000 Box Tops! Not only was the amount earned a school record, but my son's class had the most collected for one class in school history! And for that, they earned a movie day in pj's. :)

Have a great Tuesday!

Today, I'm Grateful For Cameras!

I just ran across this random picture of my daughter and I.  I say random because it was sitting alone in a totally unrelated picture file "folder" on our desktop.  Anyway, this was us in the Spring of 2005 (OMG!!!), at the Dallas Museum of Art.  We were playing in the old children's area.  I say "old" because the children's area is a million times cooler these days.  Anyway, she'll be 8 next month and I can't believe how fast the time has gone by.  I'm so grateful we live in an age where it's so easy to capture a memory to share, as well as hold on to forever!  Well, my own personal forever that is.  :)

Look at those cheeks.  Isn't she the cutest!?

The NCSA Helps Place High School Athletes With College Recruiters!

The NCSA Athletic Recruiting Network is the largest and most trusted community connecting college coaches and qualified student-athletes. Each year, more than 35,000 college coaches discover, evaluate and recruit athletes through the NCSA Network. The National College Scouting Association was founded in 2000 to help redefine the college recruiting process. Since 2000, NCSA Athletic Recruiting has grown rapidly and been featured on ESPN and the Wall Street Journal. NCSA will place more than 6,000 athletes in 27 different sports at the collegiate level in 2011 and they will receive an average of over $18,000 per year in financial aid.

Help your high school student get noticed with a free scouting report. Don't get overlooked, visit the NCSA today!!  Good luck!!  :)
