I'm Such A Lazy Shopper!

Other than a trip to Sprouts, it had been 2 weeks since I grocery shopped. I mainly just needed dairy and some chips/snacks. We have a stocked pantry and freezer otherwise!! I headed to Alberstons yesterday morning, before the ad arrived at the house, so I had to just wing it this trip.

I spent $29.39 and saved $23.45.

This week at Albertsons Kraft Cheese is 5/$10 ($2 each). Now this wasn't tagged of course, but here's there catalina deal:

Buy 3 (6 oz or larger) Kraft Cheeses and get $2.00 off your next order (oyno, or a catalina)
Buy 4 get a $3.00 catalina
Buy 5 or more get a $4.00 catalina

I was bummed this wasn't tagged in the store since I bought 2 Kraft Cheeses. I would have got at least one more, darn it! This deal runs 6/19 until 7/12.

I also saw catalina tags on Jello Pudding 6 packs, buy 2 get a $1.00.

Another deal, I used my 2 Kool-Aid/Sugar coupons from a few weeks back. Kool-Aid is priced at Albertsons 8/$1.00 ($.12 each). So I purchased 20 packets and 2 C&H sugars at $2.19 each. That's $6.78 for Kool-Aid and sugar. But I used the 2 $2.00 off sugar coupons plus 2 $.35 off C&H sugar coupons that were tripled...calculator sounds......okay, that $.68 total for 20 packets of Kool-Aid and two 4 pound bags of C&H. But wait, there's more!! I'll list the Kool-Aid on eBay (to sell internationally most likely) and make about $10 back. So, free sugar plus a small profit! :)

For example, here's an eBay listing that has ended, 50 Kool-Aid packets sold for $24.95! Which is amout right, $.50 a packet on eBay.

Be sure to visit the Albertsons website, there's a Coke/Disney matching game you can play for a chance to win a Disney Resort vacation. Good luck!

Albertson's-Sept 22

I headed to Albertson's for Helpers and Klennex. They were out of Kleenex (well, at least the ones to work my dirt cheap deal!). Oh well, serves me right for waiting until Monday to shop. Here's all I got:

6 Helper's on sale $1.00 each - (2) $.75/3 Helper cpn = $.75 each

1 French Bread free with coupon, it was a survey on my receipt from my last trip to Albertson's.

Total OOP, $4.50 and I "saved" $10.14. I also got a free Redbox movie on the way out.

Click here for Redbox codes anytime and click here to sign up at Redbox. You get your first rental free and can sign up for free rental codes on Monday and Wednesday, via text message. You can also reserve your movie online and the Redbox will hold it for you. That's pretty cool, since it's such a gamble to rent from a machine. You never know what is available. Can you tell I'm a big fan of Redbox? I thought they were so odd a year ago, I kept wondering why anyone would ever rent from it. Because it's FREE! That's why!

Albertsons Mega Event

So, I kept my promise and returned the Redbox movie and ran into not only Albertsons but also CVS yesterday. Here's how I did at Albertsons:

2 Six Packs of Water $2.00
2 Powerades $2.00
1 Planter's Peanuts $2.50
3 Kool-Aids $.50
3 Pictsweet Veggies $3.00
2 Hormel Chili $2.00
1 Loaf of French Bread $1.50

MINUS
$5.00 Mega Event Savings (you must get 10 qualifying items)
$1.00/1 Powerade cpn from paper
$3.00 Planters IP cpn, ($.50 overage even after Kool-Aid)
$.55/2 Hormel Chilis coupon from a magazine
Free French Bread Cpn (one the spits out with your receipt, save these!!!)

$2.82 OOP....pretty good, huh? I usually don't waste money on bottled water, but for a final price of $.50 each I'm hoping to hide them in the pantry for guests or something. My receipt savings was $20.35, but I always take that number with a grain of salt!

No Groceries for 3 Weeks!

I went "grocery" shopping finally yesterday for the first time in 3 weeks! No, we weren't starving and, yes, I did go shopping the past 3 weeks. I went to Wal-Mart, we had to buy milk ($3), I went to CVS here and here, then I went to Target and finally I went to Target and CVS. See, I shop a lot. If you'll notice the pictures I usually picked up milk, bread or fruit while I was "free shopping".

I added up all my misc. trips and spent only $32.44 OOP. Now, my budget is about $35 a week. So over the past 3 weeks I would have $105 to spend. Subtract the $32.44 and I could have spent $72.56 to catch up.

Yesterday's total???? $64.28..........that's $8.28 under budget! I am pleased with myself. My average for the past 3 weeks has been $32.24 a week. That's for groceries, diapers, TP, you name it for a family of 4.

First, I went to Kroger and spent $26.46. Some highlights: I found the Land O' Frost free lunchmeat, but only got 2. I finally found some cat food I had a free coupon for, so I got 3 more bags of free cat food, a free yogurt (it was on sale for $1.25 because it expired soon, I stacked a $.40 e-coupon with a $.50 regular coupon that they doubled, so I really made $.15 on it), Totino's pizzas are only $.70, that's about all that was super exciting.

I had loaded a cooler with ice in the car before I left, so I packed all the cold stuff up and off we went to........ Albertson's.

"Helper's" are on sale for $1, but be sure to print a coupon from my coupon bar ($.80/3)! I stocked up on those and Betty Crocker mixes ($1/2 cookies and $.40/1 brownies is on my coupon bar at left). Blue Bell is $2.67 with coupon, click here. I also took advantage of a fun deal with Cool Whip/Jello and free cookies. I used $1 coupons on each the Cool Whip and Jello. Then for me it was just a bunch of staples (bread, eggs, rice...boring!). Be sure to get the free Kraft Singles coupon from the Parade last Sunday. I got free cheese for purchasing 3 Kool-Aids. Can you believe my kids have never had Kool-Aid? I daughter carried them home she was so excited!

Starting today at Albertson's C&H sugar is $.99, purchase it with the $.30 coupon from the paper (tripled) and you will only pay 9 cents!! This is today through Sunday, limit one. Also, they are running a gas discount promotion if you spend $50 or $100 on groceries.

Don't forget, if you go to Albertson's (or Wal-Mart, etc) get a Redbox movie code before you leave the house. I used the code "SUMMER" and the kids got Alvin. I have never once paid for a Redbox movie!! Read here about how I keep a code with me at all times. Between the movie and the Kool-Aid, my daughter had a great time. :)

Happy shopping!
