After a speedy trip through Target for my nephew's birthday gift, I got to the car and realized I forgot a card. Okay......no big deal since my daughter was dying to make a card for him. Once I got home, I raided my HUGE gift bag "collection". Oops.....I guess my secret is out!! I haven't purchased a gift bag in probably ten years. I save all of them!! I'm a nut!! :) Anyway, I didn't have an appropriate bag the right size. Something medium, you know?
Now that we receive the paper, I have been saving the comic pages each Sunday. Keeping them stashed with my gift bags, tissue paper, etc, Here's what we did!! Cute, huh?
My daughter made the beautiful card. She was so proud of it! I wrapped of course. I even found a new bow in my stash. I thought it made a cute "shabby chic" kind of statement. Earth friendly as well. :)
I had been saving the comics all along to do this very project and it worked out just when I needed it. Plus my daughter and I had afternoon craft time together.

That looks really cute!
Love the thriftyness! That is great! You have inspired me to start saving my comics as well!
Thanks ladies!! I think I'll make it my "trademark" birthday wrapping paper. :)
My mil taught me to use comics as wrapping paper years ago. I think it's really a cute idea!
I love the card your daughter made.
And I voted for your Kroger bag--even though we don't have Kroger here!
Yep!! I remembered my mom doing this for us when we were kids. :)
Thanks for reading and the vote!! :)
Angie
My mom used to do that all the time when I was a kid!
