Yesterday's trip to Kroger was planned totally on the fly, and ended up being one of my best trips! I only needed the milk, eggs, fruit, and TP, but got the rest because it was super cheap.
This week, Kroger is doing the Mega Event again, where you purchase 10 participating items you get an additional $5 off.
Here's my highlights:
5 Quaker Quakes, on sale $.99 - (3) $.50 coupons from samples doubled up to $.99 and (2) $1.00 newspaper coupons - $2.50 Mega Savings = $2.47 profit/OVERAGE on 5
The overage was allowed in this case because the price is $.99, the $.50 extra savings per item (Mega Event) comes off at the end as $5. I didn't even realize until I got home and wondered why my total was so low. :)
Tidy Cats $.49 after Mega Savings and $1.00 newspaper coupon
Betty Crocker Potatoes - Mega Event savings - $.40 Cellfire eCoupon and $.35 ShortCuts eCoupon - (2) $.40 Betty Crocker printable potato coupon doubled = $.37 OVERAGE on 2
In the above case, the Cellfire eCoupon should not have off since I used a printable coupon, but it did. Who am I to agrue with the computer? ShortCuts eCoupons seem to always come off if a "paper" coupon is used.
Ken's Salad Dressing = $.49 each after Mega Event and $1.00 coupon from last Sunday's paper
Fiber One Bars were $1.00 after coupons, one was only $.25 after the $.75 ShortCuts eCoupon!
Purex detergents were only $1.99 after Mega Event and $.50 newspaper coupon from Sunday was doubled, and each one have a hang tag with a fabric softener sample!
Total OOP = $17.06
Total saved = $50.43 Yippee!!
I also got gas on the way out and used my $.10 a gallon Kroger Fuel discount. I paid $1.57 a gallon for E-85 and saved $2.11 on the gas.
Please e-mail me if you have any questions!! :)

Awesome trip! I'm gonna mirror your purchase exactly and hopefully it will work out for me too :-) Thanks for posting!
Feel free! That's why I post! :) Good luck!
I can't remember if I've commented on your blog yet, but I love the great deals you get! I'm also amused because my parents live in Wylie (I grew up in Plano), and I doubt there are many bloggers in your small town! :)
Thanks Jennifer!!!!! :) I think you're right about Wylie, I'm trying to corner the market. Haha!
WTG! :-)
Thanks!! :)
